Potentate's Message

 Nobles:
It has been a busy few months. The Calendars, Masonic Business Directory,

and the Roster Book and the Medinah Review are finally in the hands of our Nobles. I apologize for the delay but it was way beyond our control. Thank you for your patience.

The Shrine Club Presidents installation went well and we even got pictures of the Presidents for our Shrine Club Wall. We then went on to the Northwest Suburban Shrine Club (my Shrine Club) where the red carpet was rolled out and we had a great time and danced till the wee hours of the morning. Our next stop was the combined Lake County and Chain O Lakes Shrine Clubs O.V. It was well attended and this was the first combined O.V. for both the clubs in a long time. This group of Shriners has pledged to buy 100 Circus Tickets for next August Circus. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PLEDGE!!! Next came the Fox Valley Shrine Club O.V. Pat & I would like to sincerely thank the Clubs for all their very generous donations to Pat's project Cleft Lip and Palate at Shriners Hospital, Chicago Unit. Then we were off to Rockford for the Great Lakes Shrine Association winter business meeting. It was voted at that meeting, that the winter and summer meetings be combined for financial reasons.

I am not sure when this is going out but, if it is not too late remember to get your reservations in for the March 20, 2010 Potentates Ball, "Paint the Town Red" at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare Hotel. You don't want to miss this one, as it will probably be the last Ball away from Medinah for some time to come. We have planned all kinds of good stuff and a sweet table that will knock your socks off. Please don't forget to get your reservations in for the April 16, 2010 Reception Dinner for Imperial Potentate Jack H. Jones and Most Worshipful Grand Master of Illinois Richard L. Swaney. This is a Historic occasion and the seating is limited to the first 500 paid reservations. Last but not least is Pat's Ladies Fashion Show "Lady in Red" on May 15, 2010. As of this writing there were better than 800 paid reservations. You should act now before the Fashion Show gets sold out as it always does.

Have you noticed a theme here? "Paint the Town Red", "Lady in Red" and the Divan are all wearing red shirts... Pat's favorite color is RED so if in doubt... wear RED. I want to thank all the Nobles for their support in all the things we are asking them to do. You are doing a wonderful job and keep up the good work.

Yours in the Faith,
 Jerry

Recorder's Messages

Sunshine Fund
What is the Sunshine Fund? Well Nobles, it is a fund that was created to help other Nobles who are in need of assistance in paying their dues. The donated funds are from Nobles and/or Units, Clubs or Committees who want to assist a brother Noble in his time of need. If you'd like to donate to this fund please call the office. None of us want to lose a Noble from our ranks during these troubled financial times.

The First Ladies Project
Pat's project is Cleft Lip and Palate. If your Unit, Club or Committee is going to donate to this worthy cause please make your checks payable to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Making out your check in this manner is the easiest way to make sure that the monies get to the right place. You may also want to make a notation on the "Memo" portion of the check that says "Cleft Lip and Palate program".

Check Those Dues Cards
Heads of the Units, Clubs and Committees should be checking to see if the members of your group are in possession of a current Medinah dues card. Why, you ask? Well, don't you want to have all your members current if they are participating in your group? Besides, we have been advised by Imperial that if something should happen during a parade, there could be issues regarding insurance coverage.
